Posters celebrating the local roots of Phillips Distilling

Challenge

Phillips Distilling was looking for a poster series to promote events taking place in supper clubs as part of their 100th-anniversary celebrations. The connection to the northern Midwestern community, local farmers, and local ingredients needed to be represented as much as the company’s urban home.

Solution

Connecting the rural with the cosmopolitan was achieved by bringing the communities, nature, farms, and northern midwestern traditions into the urban scenery where the supper clubs are located. Each poster depicts a season of the year in which an event takes place. Flowing, natural shapes with highly detailed illustrations in vibrant colors invite the viewer to explore the poster beyond its initial impact and messaging. The traditional poster elements and font choices in combination with modern digital illustrations represent the past, present, and future of Phillips Distilling.
